On One Salsa: INTRODUCTION

A great starting place for new dancers looking for an introduction to the fundamental steps, partnering technique, and history of On-One Salsa. “On-One” salsa in particular is heavily influenced by Hollywood and Los Angeles. As a result, “On-One” is also commonly called “LA” style salsa, and is the style that is most commonly danced at social events in the Capital region.

Where experienced dancers can challenge themselves to develop a deeper understanding of On-One Salsa dancing body technique, solo shines, and methods for chaining together partnering elements. We recommend you take “On-One Salsa: Introduction” class prior to this class if you are new to salsa. Exceptions to this suggestion can be made on an individual basis for those who have previous experience and are willing to meet with the instructors beforehand.
